Lutherans have a rich, diverse, and global musical heritage. It is nearly impossible to imagine worship at FLC without the beauty of music. Whether it’s the soaring voices of the congregation and choir, the majestic and mighty pipe organ, the subtle beauty of the piano, the rhythmic pulses of the bongos, or the sound of children joyfully playing away on percussion instruments, we are blessed to worship God in many styles and yet with one voice.

Our music ministry includes a choir, instrumental ensemble, and individual musicians and singers who share their musical gifts in our worship service.

Choir
Our Choir sings a diverse repertoire of music both ancient and modern. The Choir’s primary purpose is not to perform, but to lead the whole people of God in worship. In addition to singing anthems, the Choir leads the congregation in singing the liturgy and hymns, and helps introduce new music. All are welcome and encouraged to sing in the Choir, which rehearses Sunday mornings at 9:15 AM from September through May.

Instrumental Ensemble
Our Instrumental Ensemble is made up of a variety of brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments, and adds to the color and beauty of our worship together. The Ensemble is open to all who play a musical instrument, and rehearses at pre-arranged times depending on the availability of the instrumentalists.

Handbells
Our Handbell Choir is our newest musical ensemble, and is led by director David Wurth. The Handbell Choir adds a new dimension of joy to our worship life, playing anthems, accompanying the choir, or augmenting congregational singing of the psalms. They rehearse Monday evenings at 6:30 PM. This is a fun, low-stress group, and no prior musical experience is necessary.
